April Book Club

Join us for Book Club at noon on Thursday, April 28th.
"Years ago, Berg (Tapestry of Fortunes) urged Nancy Horan (Loving Frank) to write a fictional biography of Sand.  Horan told Berg to write it herself.  Wisely, Berg took her advice to heart, as evidenced by this beautiful, imaginative re-creation of a brilliant, complicated writer, feminist, romantic, and activist." ~ Beth Andersen (Reviewed April 1, 2015) (Library Journal, vol 140, issue 6, p72), Starred Review

The Friends of the Sodus Community Library have a great program coming up!  Join us for Books-Sandwiched-In at noon on Tuesday, April 19th, for a presentation on "Native Plants" by Master Gardener Kathryn Franz.  She'll discuss why adding native perennials, grasses, ferns, and ground covers is becoming so popular among home gardeners.  Add beauty to your landscape and provide food and habitat for wildlife while saving time and money.  Plant native!

A Sodus Point Spring - April 1886!

From page 6 of the Wayne County Alliance, Sodus, New York, April 21, 1886:

"Not much business is being done as yet in the way of shipping.  Six vessels lie at anchor in the Bay. Active preparations for the Summer campaign have been begun on every side; sailors are busy repairing and painting their vessels, and residences, and Summer-cottages are being put in trim."
