On Your Mark, Get Set ... READ! - Week 4

Summer reading is already half done!  We hope you're having as much fun as we are, that you're reading lots of great books, and that you join us for some of Week 4's activities:

Monday, July 25th
10:30 a.m.  World Playground - Books, games, and craft from Scotland
4:00 p.m.  Zootopia (Rated PG; 1 hour, 46 minutes) - Snacks and drinks provided

Tuesday, July 26th
10:30 a.m.  Games Around the World:  Korea
6:00 p.m.  Teen Popcorn Olympics - Find a few friends, a team name, and sign up for the Popcorn Olympics!  All teams must register by July 25th

Wednesday, July 27th
4 and 4:30 p.m. - Healthy Cooking for Kids at the Farmers' Market - Sign up is required

Thursday, July 28th
10:30 a.m.  Toddler Time:  Let's Play - Join us for books, songs, and play time with friends!  (Caregivers need to stay in the children's room)

Friday, July 29th
11:00 a.m.  Zumba for Kids with Ms. Denise - No sign up needed.  Wear sneakers please!

10:30 a.m.  Self Defense For Kids, Part 2 - Ms. Adele will be sharing defense techniques for kids (if you missed part 1, you can still attend part 2)

TWO OF A KIND Moving and Grooving at the Library Tuesday, July 19th!


Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a free family concert by an award-winning husband and wife team, TWO OF A KIND.  David and Jenny Heitler-Klevans have released nine recordings - eight for children & families, and one for adults, plus a DVD. Their recordings have won a total of 16 national awards, including 5 Parents' Choice Awards and 8 Children's Music Web Awards.  TWO OF A KIND delights audiences of all ages with their music, good humor and audience participation.

We're grateful to the Friends of the Sodus Community Library for sponsoring this event!  The music starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19th.  (If it's raining, we'll move inside to our community room.)

Library Board Meets Thursday

The annual organizational meeting of the Sodus Community Library Board of Trustees will be held at 4 p.m. this Thursday, July 14th, in our community room.  The Board's monthly meeting will follow immediately after the annual meeting.  Board meetings are open to the public.

Tuesday, July 12th
10:30 a.m. Fun & Games Around The World:  Minecraft From Sweden - Bring your electronic device with the app, or use our computers if you have a paid account
6:00 p.m. Teen Chocolate Olympics - Find a few friends, choose a team name, and sign up for the Chocolate Olympics!  All teams must register by July 11th.

6:30 p.m. Summer Reading Opening Ceremonies - Stop in for a story, have a snack, and make a craft to celebrate the beginning of the Summer Reading Olympics!

Wednesday, July 6th
4 and 4:30 p.m.  Healthy Cooking for Kids at the Farmers' Market - Sign up at the Market or at the Library

Thursday, July 7th
10:30 a.m.  Toddler Time:  123 Numbers - Join us for books, songs, and play time with friends!  (Caregivers need to stay in the children's room)

Friday, July 8th
10:30 a.m.  Yoga for Kids with Pat Finnerty - Join us for children's yoga in the children's room.  Sign up is requested; no mat needed
