Author Program Tonight!
Thanks
to funding from our hard-working Friends group, we're able to offer a
real treat to the entire community. In collaboration with the Sodus
Central School District and the Newark School District, the Library will
be hosting award-winning author Steve Sheinkin at 5 p.m. tonight (Monday,
November 3rd).
Sheinkin writes fascinating books on American history, including The Notorious Benedict Arnold, which won the YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults and the Boston Globe/Horn Book Award for Nonfiction, and Bomb: The Race to Build – and Steal – The World’s Most Dangerous Weapon, a Newbery Honor Book, a National Book Award finalist, and the recipient of many other accolades and honors. His newest release, The Port Chicago 50: Disaster, Mutiny, and the Fight for Civil Rights, has already been named a National Book Award finalist.
The program at the library will be the only opportunity for the general public to meet Sheinkin during his visit. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a personal copy of any of the author’s titles, as he has offered to sign them after his program. We hope you can attend!

pre- winter activity for many people, and a great way to get some extra
Christmas presents that will last a long
winter. Because we categorize and alphabetize, your shopping
experience is stress free and you can browse to your heart's content.
Our sale will be held Thursday, November 6th from 10:00 – 7:00, Friday, November 7th from 10:00 – 4:00 and ‘Bag Day Saturday’, November 8th from 10:00 – 3:00. We are located at 17 Maple Avenue. You may direct any questions to 483-9292 and the staff will be more than happy to give you answers.
Attending our book sales is a great way to support your Library. All proceeds are used to purchase items not included in the annual Library budget. The Friends Book Sale fundraiser is a win-win situation; you are able to benefit from great bargains and the Library is able to provide ‘Wish List’ items, many for public use. Check out the fulfilled, ‘Wish List’ in the Library lobby to see what we’ve accomplished with your help. Just a reminder, you can join our Friends Group for as little as $5.00 a year….Join the Friends…… Join the fun. See you at the Library soon."
