Public Hearing Wednesday

In preparation for our budget vote and Trustee election on June 4, we will be holding a public hearing Wednesday, May 28, from 7-8 p.m.  Copies of the proposed budget are available at our checkout desk.  Staying within the New York State tax cap, we are asking for an additional $5,814 to help cover the increase in our operating budget.  Jean Seymour and Bill Lesniak are running for the two openings on the Library Board.

Holiday Closing

The Sodus Community Library will be closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (May 24, 25, and 26) for the Memorial Day weekend.  You will still be able to access your OWWL account, our catalog, and OWWL2go downloadable audiobooks and eBooks.

Books-Sandwiched-In Luncheon

The good weather is finally here, and we're all itching to get out in our gardens.  If you'd like to learn how to attract butterflies to your spaces, join us for the last spring Books-Sandwiched-In.  On Tuesday, May 20th, our Friends group will be hosting Sue Mitchell from Cornell Cooperative Extension.  Join us at noon to enjoy lunch and hear Sue's "Butterfly Gardening" presentation.  Reservations are required so we know how much food to prepare; your $3 donation covers both the luncheon and the program.

The Friends would also love to have you stay after the program for their monthly meeting.  I hope to see you on the 20th!

The Sodus Community Library will be closed Sunday, May 11th in honor of Mother's Day.  We hope all of you and your moms have a wonderful day!

Board Meeting Thursday

The Sodus Community Library Board of Trustees will hold their monthly meeting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 8th.  Board meetings are open to the public.

2-Hour Closing Thursday

The Sodus Community Library will be closed this Thursday, May 1st, from 2-4 p.m.so that staff may attend visitation hours for Board President Carol Sergeant's husband, Gilbert (Gib).

Book Club Meets Thursday

Come discuss Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens this Thursday, April 24th, at noon.  Then start reading our nonfiction choice for May, Doris Kearns Goodwin's The Bully Pulpit:  Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism.  We'd love to have you join us!

Line Dancing Starts Monday

Join us at 6:30 Monday evening for line dancing with Joy Frizelle.  You don't need to have done any dancing to come and enjoy.  I hope to see you there!

Autism Awareness Program Thursday

Christian Mast would like to help us understand what it's like to live with autism.  Join us in our community room this Thursday (April 17th) at 4 p.m.

Tuesday is Movie Night

Join Miss Roxanne at 6 p.m. tomorrow night (Tuesday, April 15th) for a popular movie starring E. B., the Easter Bunny's teenage son who wants to join a rock 'n' roll band.

Books-Sandwiched-In Program Tuesday

Monday is your last chance to make a reservation for this month's Books-Sandwiched-In featuring Wayne County Clerk Michael Jankowski.  The luncheon starts at noon on Tuesday, April 15th, with the program following immediately after.  A $3 donation covers lunch and the program.  I hope to see you there!
