This eagle, donated to the Library by SFL Volunteer Bette Bugni, was carved by Tom Verdon of Davenport, Iowa. Verdon carved it in the style of the original eagle which, at ~7 feet tall, stood guard next to the Town of Sodus Honor Roll sign in May of 1943. The plaque on the original eagle read:"Erected by the citizens of Sodus Township

Pauline Dodge, Senior Library Clerk, has donated a photo of the original sign and eagle, which we have framed. Thanks to Bette and Pauline for bringing a bit of Sodus history back to life!
