Ancestry Library Edition

We are also now able to access Ancestry Library Edition, which features an astounding 200 billion+ images in more than 8,000 unique databases.  Our licensing agreement restricts Ancestry use to patrons using the library's Internet connection, so it will not be available at your home.  However, our Wi-Fi is on 24/7, so even when we're closed you can pull up a chair on our porch, or sit in your car in our parking lot, click on the icon, and research your family tree!

Upcoming Budget Vote

You will have the opportunity to vote on your library's budget from noon until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3rd.  We are asking for an additional tax levy of $7,926, an increase which is less than the amount allowed under New York State's Tax Cap legislation.  With this additional funding, the total tax levy for the library's next fiscal year (July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016) would equal $304,440.

Copies of the proposed budget are available at our checkout desk.  In addition, the Sodus Community Library Board of Trustees will hold a public budget hearing at 7 p.m. this Thursday, May 25th.

There are no Trustee openings to be voted on this year.  Absentee ballots are available at the Sodus Central School District Clerk's office at 6375 Robinson Road.  If you have any questions regarding the budget or the vote (or anything else library related), please stop by or give us a call at (315) 483-9292.
