Opening – Library Groundskeeper
Responsibilities
Chief responsibilities
of the Groundskeeper position are maintaining the outdoor spaces of the library
and attending to general maintenance issues inside the building (list attached)
Applicants
·
Must be at
least 18 years old
·
Must be able
to push a lawnmower and snow blower
·
Must be able
to climb a ladder to change ceiling lights and ballasts
·
Must be able
to use stairs to reach basement locations
·
Should have
experience with furnaces and air conditioners
·
Should have
knowledge of general plumbing
·
Should be
able to lift 50 pounds
Work
Environment and Hours
·
Use of
lawnmowers, snowblower, weed eater, power washer, trimmer
·
At least
$14.20, more depending on experience
·
About 5
hours per week (must be available all year)
·
Flexible
hours but must be able to remove snow from walkways before the library opens in
the winter (by 8:30am)
This
position will begin on May 20, 2022.

Ms. Gateley will explore the relationship between humans and the lake’s ecosystem from the Ice Age to the present in a lively, enjoyable 25-minute program followed by discussion. She will answer the following questions and others.
What animal was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of
Native Americans in the 18th Century?
What fish became the King of the Lake?
What bird “blew the whistle” on the deadly effects of toxic
chemicals that helped to pass the Clean Water Act of 1972?
