Library Board Meets Thursday

There will be a special meeting of the Sodus Free Library Board of Trustees at 4 p.m. this Thursday, February 26th, to discuss the budget. All Board meetings are open to the public.

New Video Circle Sheets

I put out two new "circle the video" sheets today. New titles include The Secret Life of Bees, W., Man on Wire, Body of Lies, Changeling, Nights in Rodanthe, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Space Buddies, City of Ember, The Express, Chrissa Stands Strong, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, Lakeview Terrace, Religulous, Brideshead Revisited, and Appaloosa; all are available for OWWL Holds. Wellness Series

Sign up now for our upcoming Wellness Series. Dr. Teon Kowalyk will be presenting "Natural Solutions to Digestive Problems" on February 19th, "Natural Solutions to Headaches" on March 19th, and "Understanding Fibromyalgia" on April 23rd. All programs will start at 6 p.m. Reservations are required for each of these programs as space is limited - veggies and pizza will be provided.

Dr. Kowalyk has numerous years of experience as a personal trainer, a team athletic trainer, and an international level professional rugby player. He completed his undergraduate degree in exercise physiology, and went on to graduate with his Doctorate in Chiropractic from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He is passionate about promoting a healthier lifestyle, and is committed to helping people reach optimal levels of health and wellness.

Holiday Closing

The Library will be closed Monday, February 16, in honor of Presidents' Day; we will reopen at noon on Tuesday, February 17. See you then!

Upcoming Chocolate Sale

Get ready! The members of our Friends of the Library group are busily organizing their sixth annual Valentine's Chocolate Sale. Visit the Library between noon and 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 12th, and between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, February 13th, for a great selection of devilish, delightful, delectable, decadent and downright delicious sweets. This year there will even be a few non-chocolate goodies for those who are non-chocoholics (a condition I just can't comprehend!) As always, donations for the sale will be gratefully accepted; they may be dropped off any time after 10 a.m. on Thursday the 12th.

Library Board Meets Thursday

The Sodus Free Library Board of Trustees will hold their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. this Thursday, February 5th, in the Library's meeting room. This meeting will be followed by the Annual Association meeting and Trustee election at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend all Board meetings. Sodus residents who are 16 years of age or older, and who are OWWL cardholders, may vote in the Trustee election; absentee ballots are available at the check-out desk.
