Opening – Library Groundskeeper
Responsibilities
Chief responsibilities
of the Groundskeeper position are maintaining the outdoor spaces of the library
and attending to general maintenance issues inside the building (list attached)
Applicants

Must be at
least 18 years old

Must be able
to push a lawnmower and snowblower
·
Must be able
to climb a ladder to change ceiling lights and ballasts
·
Must be able
to use stairs to reach basement locations
·
Should have
experience with furnaces and air conditioners
·
Should have
knowledge of general plumbing
·
Should be
able to lift 50 pounds
Work
Environment and Hours
·
Use of lawnmowers,
snowblower, weed eater, power washer, trimmer
·
At least
$13.50, more depending on experience
·
5-10 hours
per week (must be available all year)
·
Flexible
hours but must be able to remove snow before the library opens

Job Opening – Library Clerk
Responsibilities
Chief responsibilities of this position include opening and closing the library, working the circulation desk, checking materials in and out, electronic data input, assisting patrons with computers and reference questions, processing books, general clerical/reception duties, collecting fines and charges, and answering phones. Previous library experience and excellent customer service skills are a definite plus for the applicant hoping to fill this position. This clerk will also assist the director with adult services as needed.
Applicants
Must have a HS Diploma or GED
Must be able to work year-round
Must be reliable and consistently available for designated hours
Must be service-oriented and able to work well with the public
Must have good computer skills and be able to use office machines; e.g. copier, fax, printer
Must be able to work independently
Must be physically able to climb stairs, reach all book shelves, and lift heavy books and delivery trays
Must be clean and neat
Must be available to occasionally substitute for other clerks in case of absence
Work Environment and Hours
Normal office environment and equipment
11-14 hours per week
Must be available from 4:00-8:00 on weekdays (likely Monday and Wednesday), 10-1 on Saturdays, and some Sundays 2-5
$13.50 per hour
Position will begin in July on a date TBD

The Sodus Community Library will be closed Saturday, May 29- Monday May 31 in honor of Memorial Day. Wifi is still available outside the library and the digital collection is always available at owwl.overdrive.com
