World War I Programs

With so much written and produced about World War II, the history and importance of the first World War is often overlooked. Researcher Victor Harris will be presenting two programs on World War I at 7 p.m. on consecutive Thursdays in October. On October 4th, Harris will present “A Higher Form of Killing: Chemical Warfare During World War One,” which will examine life in the trenches, new military technologies of the time, and the effects of these new weapons. On October 11th, “Over Here, Over There” will contrast the country’s attempt to preserve democracy in Europe with the hysteria and paranoia that swept America at home.
