"Books Sandwiched In" at the Sodus Community Library is restarting where it left off in the spring, inviting you to enjoy a sandwich (and dessert!) lunch while you hear about informative subject matters in a friendly setting.
The Tuesday, September 15th discussion will be a program by Bruce and Edie Farrington from Sodus Point on the everyday life of families from the 1800's in rural Wayne County. Bruce is the Sodus Point Historian, and his wife, Edie, shares his love of history. Edie grew up in the Clyde area, and her brother, Ron Winter, recently acquired seven diaries written by their great-great-grandfather. He was a Civil War veteran and a farmer NE of Clyde; he traveled to Sodus, the Old Point, and went out rowing and fishing on the Bay, along with other travels.
The luncheon will be at noon (cost is $3.00), and the free presentation will start at 12:30 in the Library's community room. Stop by at 17 Maple Avenue to sign up at the front desk, or call (315) 483-9292 to reserve your spot. Seating is limited to 30 for lunch, plus an additional 10 for the program.
