This area will be privileged to see a partial (~70-80%) solar eclipse next Monday, August 21st. Thanks to a NASA and Moore Foundation grant secured by Sarah Matthews at the Wadsworth Library in Geneseo, we have 25 pairs of eclipse glasses you'll be able to use to look safely at the sun.
Join us on the library's front lawn between noon and 4 p.m. on Monday to watch as the moon passes between the Earth and the sun. You can borrow a pair of our glasses - we'll be sharing, so times may be limited. Feel free to bring your own pinhole "projector" or even a colander to watch the circles of light form on the lawn. The next solar eclipse that we'll be able to see in our area will be on April 8, 2024!
